Sister to little Sister

I had an eye-opening experience with my boyfriend's little sister that just completely blew my mind. We were getting dressed and preparing to go to Kemah for the day, and I was dressing in peach accessories, turquoise skinny jeans, and a flowy white blouse. She came into the room where I was getting dressed and was like "I'm going to wear what you're wearing!", and for a second I didn't think she ...was serious, but as I walked out of the room, &saw that she changed the outfit that she had originally planned to wear into an outfit with identical colors and top and bottom that matched mine,! |

Now for a second, anyone would be like,..hmmm,, why is she being a "copy-cat", "jocking your style" or say that "she's being annoying" or whatever anyone would normally claim, but God showed something to me much more fulfilling!

He allowed me to see that as women, especially in the Body of Christ, we DO set the example for other young girls to follow whether we know it or not. Even when we don't recognize it, your little sister, cousin, or niece is watching your every move! If you flip your hair, they'll flip their hair, if you walk a certain way, they'll walk that way, if you cuss, they'll start to cuss, if you wear a bra with a jacket over it that's not covering anything, they will do the same, if you are wearing makeup, they'll want to wear it too, if they see you drunk and smoking weed, they will want to do it too, if they see you talking and having sex with various men they will do it too, if they see you sneaking out of the house, guess what? THEY WILL DO THE SAME! This is wayyy serious then we perceive it to be Sisters', simply because WE are the ones that will be held accountable for their actions, mistakes, and how they live their life!

Who's really the blame?

Would you want your little sister to imitate celebrities like Nicki Minja, Beyonce, or Lady Gaga? Or would you rather her follow the example of a Woman of God whom is clothed with dignity and strength in the Lord that is around her all the time?

They want someone to look up to and to imitate,! Meaning that if you walk out of the house with a short skirt and a halter top that are exposing your upper womanly possessions, these young girls will find it acceptable and will begin to imitate this behavior! (So you can't blame this next generation of young women for their appearance because WE set the standard NOW!) Too many times have we (including myself) seen and said "OOOHHH LORD THESE YOUNG GIRLS ARE JUST OUT OF CONTROL, they are having sex, wearing club attire to the playground, and doing God knows what things that they are toooo young to do!"

BUT in all honesty, WE OURSELVES ARE THE ONES TO BLAME!

We as women of God have to be more mindful about how we present ourselves to not only the world, but to our little baby girls who are wanting to be like you!!

My Sister,
Are you leading by example through following the Word of God in Titus 2:7,8?
Titus 2:7, 8
In everything set them an example, by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

Remember the time when you tried to walk in your mother's hills as a little girl? Well, this is the same situation! These girls are trying to take a step in your shoes, but are your shoes even worthy to be filled with their feet? Will they get stained with an image that is not pleasing to the Father that you may have portrayed before them? Are you setting the example? Don't blame them for their explicit wordrobe if you don't have it all together!! #ImageCheck #TurnHeartsNotHeads

P.S. Sisters, please support my in this ministry as I strive to encourage young women to become clothed with dignity and strength by avoiding the ambition to Turn Hearts and Not Heads. To support Like and share this page. www.facebook.com/TurnHeartsNotHeads  This ministry is to encourage young women to shift their focus back to the Father by allowing their inner beauty to shine and prevent them from being consumed by their outer appearance. It is to help establish and guide young women to be one with Christ by being modest in their appearance and not allowing our exterior to consume them. It is also to encourage them that they can still be beautiful modestly with fashion and style!

It is to say that as women we can still be a a show-stopper, however, allowing our inner beauty to be brought to center stage. We can be women who dresses modestly in the most up to-date fashions yet, still setting the example for other young women to follow! However, by not letting their jewels, nice garments, or our outer appearance consume us and become an idol in their life. By being obedient to the Word of God, it will reflect a heart that is submitted to Him and a desire to dress “to the glory of God!” And also by not using these things as a mechanism to attract and distract the eyes of man!

Don't overindulge yourselves with these fading items. Everything in moderation! It is not unscriptural for a woman to want to be attractive. Today, however, to what degree should us women take this advice about fixing our hair or wearing gold, pearls, or expensive clothes? Remember that beauty begins on the inside. A carefully groomed and well-decorated exterior is artificial and cold unless inner beauty is present. Modesty is Power!
